Friendly Words...

I have heard that people were unmounting the Stampin' Up! jumbo wheel - Friendly Words and cutting it into many individual stamps.  I love this wheel and have thought what a great idea that was.  What I did was order a second wheel - that way I could cut up one and leave one intact. 

This is a picture tutorial for you to see how I unmounted mine ~

Step one:  Separate the rubber from the wheel.  I thought this would be hard - it was so easy.  All I did was find the seam and pulled it off - I went slowly at first.  It came off easy and fast.

Step two:  I inked up the rubber and stamped it on white copy paper so that I could see where I wanted to cut.

Step three:  Begin cutting out the phrases you want.
 

NOTE:  Be careful not to cut too close to your phrases.

Step four:  Once you have them all cut out take a piece of EZ Mount (I purchased my EZ Mount from Sunday International), pull back the paper backing and adhere them to the sticky side of the EZ Mount. I used the thin EZ Mount.

As you can see in the picture above I only pulled back the backing so that I could fit all my stamps (12 in all) on it. 

Step five:  Trim off the section of EZ Mount with the rubber.

Step six:  Trim around each piece of red rubber creating your individual stamped phrases.

Step seven:  Once they are all cut out - pull the backing off each stamp.  Now they are ready to use. The back of the stamp is black and has a strong cling that will stick to  acrylic blocks for easy stamping. 

Step eight:  Stamp your image

Don't you just love this idea?
When I was done I had cut out 12 phrases that I mounted on EZ Mount rubber cling.  As you can see above the different phrases will work on many different projects.  I only lost one word.  It kind of overlapped another and was not worth saving.
